York G2 Rubber-Encased Olympic Plate Set — 246 lb

A complete plate set that takes you from empty bar to a heavy single without buying twice. The York G2 wraps a cast iron core in thick rubber, and that coating earns its keep every session — it kills the clang on a set-down, stops plates chewing up your floor and bar sleeves, and shrugs off years of being dragged across concrete.

Two moulded handles on each plate mean you're gripping the plate instead of pinching the rim, so loading and stripping a bar stops being the annoying part of the workout. The interlocking profile sits plates flush against each other, which frees up collar space when you're loading heavy. A steel-lined centre hub keeps the fit clean on the sleeve and stops the hole wallowing out over time.
